Our Practice in Burlington

Dr. Patricia Fink completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1991 from McMaster University and her Doctor of Optometry Degree from The New England College of Optometry, Boston, US, in 1995. She is certified to practice optometry in Ontario and British Columbia with certification in Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease. She also has all three board examinations required for practice in the US.

She received extensive clinical training from her US experience, which included eye examinations for the Boston Homeless Shelter, South Boston Community Centre, Dorchester House Health Centre, and the VA Hospital in Manchester, New Hampshire. The extended mode of practice in the US gave her experience in treating and managing glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration and anterior segment disorders. She was also privileged to participate in a VOSH mission to Mexico, where thousands of people received eye care and glasses.

Dr. Fink continued her education to become specialized in vision therapy and neuro-rehabilitation with education through the Optometric Extension Program and her Fellowship with the College of Vision and Development in 2014. She was one of the original founders of the now Vision Therapy Canada organization and served on this board for several years. She is one of the leading Canadian experts in this field and lectures extensively both nationally and internationally.
Dr. Fink was myopic (nearsighted) at a young age and has had many experiences with glasses and contact lenses. This personal experience with eyewear modalities helped her understand all the discomforts associated with glasses and contact lenses. She also has personal experience with laser vision correction, having had laser surgery done through TLC in 1998. Both contact lens wear and laser vision correction also led to her interest in dry eye disease and management. Dr. Fink has her certification for Radial Frequency and IPL laser technology to help her patients get to the root of dry eye disease.

She finds vision to be extremely important, not only for everyday office work but also for her hobbies. She enjoys playing tennis and golf and has had success as a marathon runner (completed 11 marathons, including Boston). She enjoys hearing about her patients’ hobbies and how they use their eyes for these and the challenges that eyewear creates for some of these unique working distances.
Dr. Fink enjoys education and continues to upgrade her skills, getting involved in various aspects of optometry. She is on several advisory committees for contact lenses and laser vision companies. She provides educational resources to local schools, including lectures and reading programs. She loves living in Burlington and being part of the community. It is a privilege to be a healthcare provider in Halton.

Dr. Goyal completed a B.Commerce degree at McMaster University and later ventured to the United Kingdom to attend the School of Optometry and Vision Sciences in Cardiff, Wales. Upon returning back home to Canada, she attended the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 2014. Following her graduation, she received clinical training in many areas such as ocular disease, binocular vision, pediatrics, contact lens care, post op refractive eye surgery, and glaucoma management. A new passion of hers has been practicing myopia control management.

Dr. Goyal has a deep respect for the profession of Optometry and feels blessed to be practicing. She can assure her patients that they will receive the highest quality of eye care and is grateful for their trust in her.

Dr. Goyal currently resides in Oakville, and has a wonderful husband and two young children who are her world. Her commitments outside of work consists of spending quality time with her family and making time for fitness and travel whenever mom life permits.

Dr. Pozzer graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2009 with a Doctor of Optometry degree and Honours Science degree. She joined Dr. Fink Optometry upon graduation and tremendously enjoys her time in this thriving and robust practice.

She was fortunate to spend a 4 month placement at a veteran’s hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma during her school externship. Due to the demographics of the area, Dr. Pozzer was exposed to many disease cases including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes-related pathology and anterior segment disorders. Her knowledge in this area of optometry has expanded over my years of practice, both by attending continuing education classes as well as through her own study. She is a member of both the Canadian and Ontario Associations of Optometry and holds her board certification to prescribe Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents (TPAs) in the treatment and co-management of ocular diseases. Dr. Pozzer is proud to be an affiliate of the TLC Laser Eye Centres and the Burlington Laser Eye Centre and able to provide pre- and post-operative services for laser eye surgery patients.

Dr. Pozzer and her husband are blessed with two beautiful daughters. They love spending time together being active – rock climbing, skiing and hiking. In her spare time you can find her at the barn riding her horse and preparing for jumping competitions which she partakes in throughout the summer months. Dr. Pozzer is also passionate about nutrition and natural wellness and loves listening to podcasts to learn more about these topics.

The best part of her job is interacting with her patients, and she prides herself in taking the time to get to know each of them. She is thankful for your trust for the eyecare she provides for yourself and your family and looks forward to many more years practicing in this beautiful community.

Dr. Akshu Valecha earned an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from the University of Guelph and completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo, where she graduated on the Dean’s Honour List. She has been working in the optometry field since 2018.

Dr. Valecha has extensive clinical experience in primary eye care and ocular disease management. Her training included internships in Saskatchewan and Alberta, where she managed conditions such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration, and co-managed patients undergoing LASIK, SMILE, PRK, and other refractive procedures. She especially valued serving remote communities and building strong patient relationships.

She is passionate about global health and participated in an optometric mission trip to the Philippines, with plans for future outreach work.

Her special interests include vision therapy and myopia management. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends. Fluent in Punjabi and Hindi, Dr. Valecha welcomes patients who prefer their eye exams in either language. She is excited to serve the community and looks forward to providing compassionate, high-quality eye care!

Accredited Vision Therapist, PVT: Connor has a background in health sciences, specializing in anatomy and physiology. He earned his Bachelor of Health Sciences at Western University and is currently a masters student studying Osteopathy at the Canadian Academy Of Osteopathy. He enjoys the connection of the entire body with the visual processing system and his background permits him a deeper understanding his patients’ underlying concerns.

Connor completed the PVTAP vision therapy program and joined the team in 2019.

Holding two Masters Degrees in Counseling Psychology Jennifer has enjoyed her career as a helping professional for over twenty years, As a registrant of The College of Psychotherapy of Ontario and a Professional Member of both The Canadian Psychotherapy and Counseling Association and The Ontario Society of Psychotherapists she highly values currency in the field and excellence in mental health care. Her interests include providing individual, couple and family counseling to diverse populations. Jennifer has extensive experience in the Neuro-Optometric rehabilitation field working with clients who have sustained brain injuries and is proud to be awarded Vision Therapy Canada highest therapist award in 2019.

Kira joined our team in December 2019 as an optical Technician. Since then, she has undergone training within the office, and online training with Eye Recommend furthering her knowledge and familiarizing herself with the rest of the office duties. She was eager to learn and expand her knowledge and quickly transitioned to our optical boutique! Kira is always interested in furthering her knowledge in optometry.

She has over eight years of customer service experience, two of whom were in a management position before starting at our clinic. For anyone that has met Kira, you know how caring and considerate she is for all patients and their care.

She is a true healthcare “healer” in all ways, and her smile lights up every room.

Kira enjoys spending time with family, friends and her dog Odin on her time off.

Mirella graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor of Arts degree Early Childhood Education. She also earned a diploma in Modern Languages from Dawson College of Quebec and is fluent in French and Italian.

Mirella joined the team in January 2018 and has successfully completed her PVTAP certification with Vision Therapy Canada and is an accredited vision therapist.
Mirella is friendly and her calm caring demeanor allows her to support both children and adults as they journey towards their vision goals.

In her free time Mirella enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, exploring the tastes of international cuisine, traveling, cooking, reading and watching movies.

Natasha moved to Canada in 2010 from the UK, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern Languages and Linguistics, speaking French and German.

She joined our team in October 2017 as a vision therapist and has since completed the PVTAP Vision Therapy program.

She first came to us as a mom when her son started Vision therapy for amblyopia and an eye turn. Throughout his sessions, her interest in Neuro-Optometry grew, and she was eager to learn more. Her personal experience, linguistic training, keen interest in this field, and calm and warm personality make her a perfect fit for our team.

She is passionate about helping people and working one on one with patients. Natasha’s favourite part of the job is contributing to her patients’ rehabilitation and seeing them progress the way her son did.

Nav has been a dedicated part of the team since 2016 and comes with ten years of optical expertise. Nav is an optical dispenser and optometric assistant. Her precision comes through in her spectacle prescription verification (checking your glasses when they come back from the lab to ensure proper manufacturing).

She’s also amazing with her edging skills in the lab. For those that have met Nav, you recognize her calm demeanour as she helps you select your perfect frame, selects the best matching lens design and is steadfastly there to help you troubleshoot any adaptation issues. You also know her endless encouragement during contact lens training.

Nav has a great knack for picking frames and meets with our frame sales reps to decide what is best for our patient community with an eye for the latest trends.

Nav is a fantastic team player and many of the staff seek her out as her expertise in yoga instruction and teaching allows her to help everyone achieve their fullest potential.

Sarah joined the administrative team in 2018 and has specialized in Health Claims for Auto Insurance. She has over twenty year’s customer service experience, with many of those years in management.

Sarah’s educational background varies from social services to administration to visual arts. On her time off, Sarah enjoys time curled up with a good mystery book or hiking.

Vonita joined our team in July 2009 working as the receptionist and optometric assistant. Her passion and commitment for helping people led to an interest in Vision Therapy. She has worked as a vision therapist since the inception of vision therapy at our clinic.

Vonita has completed a series of COVD courses with OEP and has received her PVTAP accreditation. She is well versed with syntonic therapy.

Vonita loves to engage with people of all ages, especially children as she is still a child at heart. Her dedication towards her patient’s success is of paramount importance.
In her free time, she loves to spend time with her two grown children, her cats and listening to music. Vonita is enthusiastic to learn and has recently received her Doula certification.

Andrea Marczenko is the owner and certified technician at Your Perfect Skin Inc., a medical aesthetics company located in downtown Burlington. Andrea grew up in Dorchester, just east of London, Ontario and has spent most of her time in London and the KW area before settling down in Burlington. For ten years Andrea has been a noteworthy leader in the medical aesthetics space with over 10,000 hours specializing in skin tightening and body contouring.

Andrea also has a college diploma in Television Broadcasting which landed her in graphic design working on live to air shows in television for years in London, Windsor and Toronto. This led her into advertising sales where she was awarded top-producing sales rep in Canada for an independent advertising company.

In 2010 Andrea welcomed the birth of her daughter Tayah, and cherishes her time being a mom. In 2012 Andrea redirected her career path and was fortunate enough to find her passion along with making a difference in others’ lives to create her business Your Perfect Skin Inc. This has fostered her inspiration for empowering people to feel better about themselves. In 2022 Andrea received her Ocular Hygienist certification and the opportunity to collaborate with Dr. Patricia Fink Optometry / Vision Therapy to assist with the dry eye treatment program. This beneficial treatment not only aligns with Andrea’s skill set but also with her mission. She’s very excited about being a part of the team.

My passion lies in helping our customers find the perfect eyewear and ensuring they have a seamless experience with us. When I’m not assisting customers, you’ll often find me immersed in a good book and exploring new stories and ideas. I look forward to connecting with you and assisting with all your optical needs!

Puneet joined our team in May 2023 as an Optometrist Assistant. She has completed her Eye Recommend training and loves to learn more. Optometry has been a field of interest for her for a long time and she excels in all aspects of the clinic. She is quick at learning new skills and is very willing to help out however she can at the practice. She helps with maintaining the contact lenses and overall keeping things organized to help everything run smoothly.

She has done her undergraduate in Bachelor of Science Specializing in Biomedical Biology (Honors). In her free time she loves to read, cook and bake. She also enjoys spending time with her family.

Denise joined the our office in February 2024 when she returned to Burlington. She brings a ton of experience with over 30+ years working in customer service in all types of different fields. Denise is detail oriented, reliable and ambitious. In her free time, she enjoys reading a good book, gardening, and dabbling in upholstery.

Fiza joined our team in September 2024 as an Optometric Assistant. She is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University, where she earned an Honours Bachelor of Science with specialization in Health Science and Physics, along with a minor in Criminology. With a science background and a passion for helping others, she is focused on pursuing a career in the healthcare field. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, baking, and spending time outdoors, whether hiking, camping, or snowboarding during the winter months.

Kiera joined our team in September 2025 as an Optometric Assistant. She graduated university in June of 2025 looking to further explore the healthcare world. She earned a Bachelor of Science majoring in Health Sciences and minoring in Biology and Psychology. She has an interest in optometry and to further her knowledge at the practice. With a passion for healthcare and eagerness to learn, Kiera makes a valuable addition to the wonderful team. In her free time, she loves to hike, travel, play sports, and spend time with her family and friends.
